Delete your account

You can delete your Cards Up account and the data attached to it from right here. You do not need to reinstall the app, and you do not need to be able to sign in.

We send a one-time link rather than deleting straight from this form, on purpose: otherwise anybody who knows your email address could erase your account. The link works once and expires in an hour.

What gets deleted

Your profile, your bio, and everything on your card
Your photos and your verification selfie, removed from storage
Your preferences, your filters, and the people you saved
Your sign-in, so the account can no longer be opened
Your name and handle, so nobody can find you

What stays, and why

Messages you already sent stay in the other person's conversation, shown as sent by “Departed”. We cannot reach into somebody else's history and rewrite what they were told.
Records we have to keep for safety or legal reasons — a report somebody else filed, for instance — are kept for as long as required and are not attached to a findable profile.

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. Backups roll off on their own schedule within 30 days.

Open Cards Up, go to the You tab, scroll to Account, and tap Delete my account. Same result — this page is here for when you cannot get in.
